Prime
Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 at the
Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, Delhi on 17 October (Monday). On
this occasion, 12th installment amounting to Rs 16,000 crore was also released
to the farmers under PM-Kisan Yojana through Direct Benefit Transfer. More than
8 crore farmers receive the installment in their respective accounts
PM Modi
addressed the farmers on this occasion. PM Modi said that through technology,
farmers can sell their produce in any market of the country while sitting at
home, this is also being done through e-NAM.
This Sammelan
brings together over 13,500 farmers from across the country and approximately
1500 Agri Startups.
According to
an official release, more than 13,500 farmers from across the country and
approximately 1,500 agro entrepreneurs will attend the event.
More than 1
crore farmers from various institutions are expected to attend the event
virtually. Researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders will also be present
at the Sammelan.
The Prime
Minister will lay the foundation stone for 600 Pradan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi
Kendras (PMKSK) under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. According to
the statement, the scheme will gradually convert the country's fertilizer
retail shops into PMKSK.
